Brockport, NY – This week on May 17
th and 18
th the Golden Eagle track and field team will be competing at the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Conference Championships, hosted by Susquehanna University. The events for day one begin at 12pm and the second day gets started at 10am.

Among the Nation's Best: Brockport has five athletes currently ranked inside the top 25 in the country for their respective events. They look to either climb or maintain their spots in order to qualify for nationals at the end of the month.
Dustin Meyer's school record pole vault mark of 5.10m has him ranked third in the country for the event.
In the women's long jump,
Mia Montgomery also set a new school record with a distance of 5.81m. She ranks 14
th in the nation heading into regionals.
Rebecca Heuler sits at 18
th in the nation with her javelin throw distance of 40.65m.
Sarah Crockett has the 23
rd best throw in the country with a 13.52m in the women's shot put.
In the high jump,
Sarah Killip also ranks 23
rd in the nation after clearing 1.65m.
Regional Rankings: The Golden Eagles sit in a solid spot across several events heading into regionals with plenty of top 10 regionally ranked competitors ready for this week.
Heuler, Crockett, and
Katrina Chandler are all top 10 in the region for separate throwing events. In the javelin Heuler ranks fourth in the region, Crockett is fifth in the shot put, and Chandler's mark of 48.12m ranks eighth in the hammer throw.
Matthew Jackson's recent school record toss of 56.51m in the men's hammer throw holds the seventh spot in the region. Pole vaulter Dustin Meyer is ranked first in the event in the region.
Montgomery's long jump ranks seventh in the region and Killip's high jump mark is fourth best. Teammate
Michaela Levesque cleared 1.63m in the high jump to rank eighth.
The men and women 4x400m relay teams are top 10 in the region. The women's squad of
Clara Sensini,
Marissa Wise,
Jennifer Metz, and
Sarah Levine ran a 3:55.64 to hold the sixth spot. With a time of 3:18.73 the crew of Aaron Ottenwalder, Ayden Grinion, Kevin Fischer, and Michael Durski rank 10
th.
Veronica Dailey ran a 11:26.53 at SUNYACs in the 3000m steeplechase, ranking ninth in the region heading into the meet.
Brockport has a top 10 runner for the 10,000m for the men and women.
Kerry Flower ranks sixth in the region with a time of 36.48.70. Paul Suflita comes in at third with his time of 30:47.73. He is also ranked fifth in the region with a 14:37.97 in the 5000m.
Jonathan Zavala ran a school record time of 3:48.17 to hold the seventh best time in the region for the 1500m.
Nationals Ahead: The Golden Eagles will soon begin to prepare for the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships following regionals this week. Only those who qualify will earn a spot to compete at nationals, hosted by St. John Fisher on May 26-28
th.
