Brockport, N.Y- The Golden Eagles softball team will close out its season this weekend, starting with a Senior Day doubleheader against Plattsburgh on Saturday at 12pm and 2pm. They will then be back on the home field Sunday for the final set of the year, welcoming Potsdam for a 12pm and 2pm doubleheader.

Senior Day: On Saturday, Brockport will be celebrating Senior Day as the team recognizes this year's senior class. This year's group of seniors includes
Hannah Jacobs,
Olivia Hayden,
Hailey Burdick,
Jenna Downey,
Amanda Blakely, and
Annie Dipirro. Prior to the first game of the doubleheader we will take time to honor and thank the seniors for all the hardwork, dedication, and contributions to the program.
Last Time Out: Brockport dropped a doubleheader against SUNY Geneseo by the scores of 6-0 and 9-1.

Game One: The Knights rode a 5-run second inning to victory in game one, aided by a near-perfect outing from Elizabeth Eberhardt. The senior went all 7 innings, allowing just four hits and striking out 5 Golden Eagles.
Fiona Gibiser (L, 2-11) pitched well in defeat, going 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs, and recording 4 punch outs.

Game Two: The Knights were seeking another shutout before a
Jackie DuTot double put Brockport on the board for the first time on the day. CF
Kellie Gentile recorded two hits for Brockport including a triple in the 5
th inning. Sophomore Kaitlyn Schmitz (W, 4-3) was effective on the mound for the Knights, going all 6 innings, allowing just one run, and striking out 9 Brockport batters. Brockport fell to 5-23 and 2-12 in SUNYAC play following the weekend.

Search for 500: With 4 games remaining, the Golden Eagles will enter the weekend two wins away from 500 for head coach John Dumaw. The Golden Eagles under Dumaw have won at least 20 games in 15 seasons, including a SUNYAC regular season championship in 2013.
Scouting Potsdam: The Bears are currently tied with Brockport in the bottom of the SUNYAC with a 2-12 conference record, and a 6-26 overall record. Potsdam is in the midst of a 9-game losing streak, most recently dropping a doubleheader at New Paltz 8-0 in 5 innings and 13-4 in 6 innings. Brockport swept Potsdam in doubleheader action on the road last year and has won 7 of the last 10 meetings. Â

Scouting Plattsburgh: The Cardinals have clinched a spot in the SUNYAC postseason tournament with a 9-5 record in conference play and a 20-8 record overall. Plattsburgh is led offensively by INF Claire Palmer, who is slashing a strong .442/.452/.496 with a team-leading 50 hits and 10 stolen bases. Plattsburgh has gotten the better of Brockport historically, including last year's sweep in doubleheader action. Â Â
Season Finale: The Golden Eagles will not be making the postseason this season, making this Sunday's set against Potsdam the final games of the year.
