Softball to Celebrate Senior Day Saturday Ahead of Sunday's Season Finale

Brockport, N.Y- The Golden Eagles softball team will close out its season this weekend, starting with a Senior Day doubleheader against Plattsburgh on Saturday at 12pm and 2pm. They will then be back on the home field Sunday for the final set of the year, welcoming Potsdam for a 12pm and 2pm doubleheader.

Senior Day: On Saturday, Brockport will be celebrating Senior Day as the team recognizes this year's senior class. This year's group of seniors includes Hannah Jacobs, Olivia Hayden, Hailey Burdick, Jenna Downey, Amanda Blakely, and Annie Dipirro. Prior to the first game of the doubleheader we will take time to honor and thank the seniors for all the hardwork, dedication, and contributions to the program.

Last Time Out: Brockport dropped a doubleheader against SUNY Geneseo by the scores of 6-0 and 9-1.

Game One: The Knights rode a 5-run second inning to victory in game one, aided by a near-perfect outing from Elizabeth Eberhardt. The senior went all 7 innings, allowing just four hits and striking out 5 Golden Eagles. Fiona Gibiser (L, 2-11) pitched well in defeat, going 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs, and recording 4 punch outs.

Sophomore Kaitlyn Schmitz (W, 4-3) was effective on the mound for the Knights, going all 6 innings, allowing just one run, and striking out 9 Brockport batters.
