Brockport, NY - The SUNY Brockport women's tennis team will open the 2023 season at home against St. John Fisher on Friday, September 1
st at 4pm. The Golden Eagles will then be at home again on Saturday at 1pm for a battle with Houghton University.
Leading the Charge: Ed Gonzalez returns for his 26
th season as head coach, and in the 8
th season of his current stint at Brockport, he previously served as head coach from 1992-2010. During his time as a Golden Eagle, Gonzalez has accumulated over 125 career victories and a SUNYAC Coach of the Year honor in 2007.

2022 in Review: The Golden Eagles posted a 3-9 record with a 2-5 mark in SUNYAC play last year, missing out on the postseason. They ended the season with a 6-3 win over D'Youville to celebrate Senior Day. The Green and Gold also claimed victories on the road against Fredonia (8-1) and Oswego State (5-4).
Preseason Polls: Brockport will open the 2023 season ranked 6th in the SUNYACÂ preseason polls, slotted ahead of Oswego and Fredonia.

All-Conference Reinforcement: Eliza Gonzalez returns for her senior season, coming off another All-Conference year in singles play. Gonzalez earned 2nd-Team All-Conference for singles play last season. She added to her list of career accolades that included 1st-Team All-Conference in singles and 2nd-Team All-Conference in doubles the previous season. Gonzalez finished last year 4-3 overall in the first singles slot for the Green and Gold. This included three consecutive wins at one point, all in two straight sets.

Returning Group: The Golden Eagles are fortunate to return the majority of the roster from last season as they look to get back to the postseason. This year's group of returning players includes
Shannon Aubin,
Eliza Gonzalez,
Sophie Langdon,
Emma Lissow,
Lena Paolicelli,
Olivia Raschiatore, and
Grace Trebilcock. Also coming back to the squad for her senior year is
Samantha Aubin, the twin sister of Shannon, after taking a year off last season.
Welcome to Brockport: The Golden Eagles welcome one new face to the program this fall. Freshman
Olivia Chiu from Fillmore, NY rounds out the roster for Brockport.
2023 Schedule: Following the season/home opener against St. John Fisher, the Green and Gold will be home for its next three matches. The next battle taking place against Houghton on Saturday, September 2
nd at 1pm. Then the team will open up SUNYAC play against Oswego on Friday, September 8th at 4pm and will host Cortland on Saturday, September 9
th at 1pm. Brockport will hit the road for matches against Alfred and Geneseo on Friday, September 15
th at 4 pm, and Wednesday, September 20
th at 4 pm before taking part in the ITA Tournament from September 23
rd-25
th. Brockport will close out its home slate with a matchup against Fredonia on Saturday, September 30
th at 1 pm before closing out the fall season with matches against Plattsburgh, Oneonta, and New Paltz. All three of the matches will take place in Binghamton, NY running from October 5th-7th.
Up Next: Following the pair of home matches on opening weekend, the Golden Eagles will prepare for another home set next week. They face Oswego and Cortland for a Friday-Saturday, SUNYAC set at home. The Golden Eagles play the Lakers on September 8th at 4pm and the Red Dragons at 1pm on the 9th. Â
