Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Field Hockey Remains Unbeaten for Program's First 5-0 Start Since 1990

Utica, NY – On Wednesday, the Golden Eagle field hockey team remains unbeaten, defeating Utica on the road, 6-1. At 5-0, this is Head Coach Krista Archambeau's best start to a season and the program's best start since 1990.

Quinn Guy notched the first hat trick of her college career. Her three goals gives her a team-leading six for the season to go with a team-best 14 total points.

Tiffany Andres added a pair of goals of her own, giving her three scores on the year. Kalena Eaton also found the back of the net, as teammate Madison Kirkpatrick registered one assist.

Getting her first start of the season, Katelynn Banning played the full 60 minutes in net for the Green and Gold. Banning made one save and allowed one goal in the win.

The Golden Eagles took control of the game early in the first quarter. They outshot Utica, 6-0, in the first period. Eaton got the scoring started just six minutes into the game with an unassisted goal. Guy got going with a goal to make it a 2-0 lead going into the second.

Early on in the second quarter it was Andres that increased the lead to 3-0. Kirkpatrick assisted on the play, earning the first assist and point of the season. Brockport maintained this 3-goal lead heading into halftime.

Less than three minutes into the third quarter, Guy netted her second goal of the game to put the squad up 4-0. The Pioneers would get on the board with a score early in the fourth, making the score read 4-1.

Looking to put the game away for good, Quinn Guy completed her hat trick with less than five minutes to play. A couple minutes later, Tiffany Andres added one more to score her second of the night. The duo combined for five goals on the way to a 6-1 win on the road.

The Golden Eagles are back at home on Friday for Senior Day in Brockport. They welcome Wells College for a 4pm start time.
