Brockport, NY - The Brockport women's tennis team will hit the road to take on Alfred University on Friday, September 15
th at 4pm.
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles dropped a pair of SUNYAC matchups last weekend, falling 6-3 at home to Oswego State last Friday before dropping Saturday's match against Cortland 7-1. Against Oswego, the Green and Gold held the advantage in doubles play with Brockport's top duo of
Eliza Gonzalez and
Olivia Raschiatore. Brockport's 3
rd doubles team of
Samantha Aubin and
Shannon Aubin also secured a victory in doubles matches.
Eliza Gonzalez would secure her second and the Golden Eagles' third and final point in 1
st singles play, defeating the Lakers' Kathryn Salamida 6-0 and 6-4 in two sets. Against Cortland, Gonzalez and Raschiatore secured Brockport's lone point with a win in 1
st doubles, 8-6.
Hot Starts: The Golden Eagles' early success has come in doubles play, with multiple duos getting off to a hot start in 2023. The top doubles team of
Olivia Raschiatore and
Eliza Gonzalez has posted a flawless 4-0 record through 4 matches, with Gonzalez posting a 6-2 overall record across singles and doubles play. Brockport's third doubles team of Samantha and
Shannon Aubin has also been impressive to begin the 2023 season, holding a 3-1 record in doubles action.
Scouting Alfred: The Saxons have jumped out to an impressive 5-0 start to the 2023 season, most recently defeating Penn State Behrend 6-2 and Mount Aloysius 9-0. Brockport has fared well against the Saxons in head-to-head play, winning 3 of the last 4 matches, and 8 of the last 10 dating back to 2010.
