Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Brockport Beats Hilbert at Home, 3-0

Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team defeated the Hilbert Hawks, 3-0, in a shutout Monday afternoon. Brockport has now gone without a loss for nine straight games, improving to 8-1-1 overall on the season.

The Golden Eagles dominated from start to finish and nearly caught up to a 22-year old program record. With 49 shots on the day, they were just two away from tying the single game record. The current record is 51 shots in a game against Potsdam back in 2001. On Monday, the team also had 25 of the 49 shots placed on goal and earned 15 corner kick chances.
 
Jaylah Cossin stuck first for the Green and Gold, scoring at 41:28 into the first half. Cossin's unassisted goal put Brockport up 1-0 heading into halftime.

Franchesca Polcaro scored just two minutes into the second half at 47:01. Polcaro was assisted by teammate Katie Hotaling, as the squad moved to a 2-0 lead. Hotaling got her second assist of the game at 59:09, sending the ball to Cossin who buried it deep in the net for Brockport's third goal of the game.

Jaylah Cossin continues to lead the Golden Eagles with 20 total points from seven goals and six assists. Hotaling has three goals and three assists for nine total points, which ranks second on the team.
 
Emily Maczka, Amelia Breton, Katie Hotaling, Karlie Mann, Madyson Whalen, Chiara Torriani, Felicity Contento, Kellie Gentile, Jaylah Cossin, Lyndsey Miller, Elaine George, Lucy Crounse, Megan Gerber, Brianna Marino, Maryalice Skutnik, Jordan Chizuk, McKenna Slate, Kiley Longin and Allison Thoman all recorded shots for the Golden Eagles.
 
In goal for the Green and Gold was Emily McCane and Karissa Champion. McCane played 65:46 minutes, making 1 save. Champion was on the field for the final 24:14 minutes, helping preserve the eighth clean sheet of the season for Brockport.
 
Brockport will return to the New Turf on Wednesday, September 27th to host the Oswego State Lakers for a 4pm game.
