Rochester, NY - The Brockport field hockey team ended its 2-game skid with a dominant, 9-0, victory over Roberts Wesleyan in Rochester on Tuesday. Brockport improved to 7-2 overall following the win.
The Golden Eagles offense came alive instantly in the first, with Quinn Guy burying a Bailey Lazore feed to put the Green and Gold ahead 1-0 just 41 seconds into the contest. Quinn Guy continued to add to her team lead in goals with her second in the first, thanks to an assist from Gianna Salerno to put Brockport up 2-0.
Bailey Lazore found paydirt and her third point of the game in the second, securing a feed from Emmalee Moore to put the Green and Gold ahead 3-0 entering the half. The Golden Eagles' backline of Mary Young, Abby Chalmers, and Jillian Owens held the Redhawks without a shot attempt in the first half, with Brockport outshooting the opposition 20-0 at the break.Â
Emmalee Moore became the third Golden Eagle with three or more points in the night, opening the second half scoring to put Brockport up 4-0 early in the third. Less than two minutes later, Kalena Eaton found the back of the net to move Brockport into a comfortable 5-0 advantage.Â
Quinn Guy sunk a Mia Herman feed to secure her second hat trick of the season to round out the scoring in the third, turning the contest into a 6-0 blowout entering the fourth.Â
The Green and Gold refused to slow down, adding three more goals in the third, thanks to Emmalee Moore's second score, Sophia Jones, and Madison Kirkpatrick's first as a Golden Eagle.
Emmalee Moore (2A, 2G) and Quinn Guy (3 goals) both recorded six points in the contest.
Goalies Katelynn Banning and Ella Buchanan played a half each, with Banning making three saves and the two combining for a shutout effort.
The Golden Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, September 30
th at 2 pm for a matchup against #18 SUNY Cortland.
