Brockport, NY – Brockport women's soccer improved to 9-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the SUNYAC after defeating the Oneonta Red Dragons at home Saturday, 1-0. Now with seven points in conference play, the Golden Eagles are currently tied with New Paltz and Cortland for first in the standings.
Firing 13 shots in the opening half, the Green and Gold placed plenty of pressure on the opponent from Oneonta. The visiting goalie, Bryanna Meehan made four saves in the first half to keep the score tied at 0-0.
After a scoreless first half
Jaylah Cossin broke the stalemate early in the second. She scored at 53:31, to give the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead. With neither team adding to the scoreboard, Cossin's goal secured the 1-0 final.
Brockport outshot Oneonta, 26 to 4, in the contest. Cossin,

Franchesca Polcaro all recorded shots for the Green and Gold. Brockport received six corners to Oneonta's one.
Madeline McCrosson spent 90:00 minutes in goal, making no saves and allowing no goals. McCrosson earned her fifth shut out on the season and her eighth win.
With her goal on Saturday,
Jaylah Cossin now has totals of eight goals, seven assists, and 23 points. She is leading the SUNYAC conference in all three statistical categories.
Brockport will host Alfred University on Wednesday, October 4
th at 4pm before heading on the road October 7
th for a 1pm game against SUNY New Paltz.
