Brockport, NY- The Brockport Women's Tennis team fell in their SUNYAC opener at home against Oswego State 6-3 on Friday, September 8
th. Brockport will head into tomorrow's match against Cortland at 1-2.
The Golden Eagles took 2 of 3 doubles matches on the day, with the first doubles team of
Eliza Gonzalez and
Olivia Raschiatore winning their 1
st doubles match 8-4, improving their doubles record to 3-0.
Shannon Aubin and
Samantha Aubin moved to 3-0 in 2023 as a duo, defeating Oswego State's #3 doubles duo Cara Campine and Emily Lussier 8-4.
Eliza Gonzalez picked up the Green and Gold's lone singles win on the afternoon, taking down the Laker's #1 singles player Kathryn Salamida in two sets (6-0, 6-4). With the win, Gonzalez moved to 2-1 on the year in singles play and 5-1 overall.
In the 4
th singles slot, Sam Aubin lost in a competitive match in three sets to Rafaela Dimitrakopoulou (6-4, 2-6, 7-5).
Olivia Chiu lost a close two-set battle against Cara Campine in the 5
th singles slot, 7-5 and 6-3.
The Golden Eagles will be back in action tomorrow at home against the Red Dragons of Cortland at 12 p.m.
