Potsdam, NY - The Golden Eagles men's basketball team overcame a first-half deficit on the road to rout Potsdam, 90-74, on Saturday, January 13
th. Brockport moved to 8-5 overall and 4-3 in SUNYAC play following the win.

The Golden Eagles held a 4-point lead with 2 minutes remaining in the opening frame, thanks to
Nate Severson's third 3-point field goal in the first half. Â Severson would finish with 10 points in 13 minutes of action, all coming in the first half.

Parker Kelly of Potsdam would drill a three-pointer with two seconds left in the half to give Potsdam a 42-41 advantage entering the break.

Colton Huestis paced the offense for the Bears, dropping a game-high 30 points, with teammate Nicholas Cortez (19 points) rounding out the double-digit scorers for Potsdam.

Down 4 points with 16:49 left in the second half, the Golden Eagles would soar to a 14-2 run, taking an 8-point advantage with just over 12 minutes remaining.

Brockport would lead for the remainder of the contest, with back-to-back
Tyler Cowie buckets giving the Green and Gold a 15-point edge. Â

A big edge in the turnover margin proved critical for the Golden Eagles, forcing 16 Potsdam turnovers and turning the ball over just 8 times.

Jacob Oka had a big day for Brockport, dropping 17 points on 80% shooting (8 of 10), while adding a career-high 4 steals.

Caquan Wester (14 points, 2-3 3pt FG) and
Danny Ashley (10 assists) turned in solid performances for the Green and Gold.

Tony Arnold turned in his best performance of the season, scoring 27 points with 5 assists and 7 rebounds. Arnold's 5 made three-pointers set a new career high as a Golden Eagle. Â
