Brockport, NY - The Brockport women's basketball team rode a balanced effort to defeat Potsdam at home, 70-60, on Friday, January 26
th. Brockport improved to 9-9 overall and 5-6 in SUNYAC play following the win.

The Golden Eagles defense ruled the first half, holding Potsdam to just 19 points at halftime and 26.9% shooting from the floor entering the halftime break.

The Green and Gold capitalized on Potsdam miscues in the first half, scoring 11 points off Potsdam turnovers.

The Bears' offense would come alive in the second half, with Carley Hill hitting a three to cut the Brockport advantage to five. Hill would finish with 16 points and connected on four 3-pointers.

Brockport would keep pace in the second half, shooting an even 14-of-28 from the floor (50%), and an excellent 4-of-7 from downtown (57%).

Potsdam would cut into the lead again in the fourth, but eight fourth quarter points from
Anna Lee would end Potsdam's comeback bid. Lee would finish with a team-high 15 points with four rebounds.

Jakia Howard turned in a double-double effort for Potsdam, scoring 16 points with 15 rebounds.

Stephanie Jean-Baptiste would tie Lee with a team-high 15 points, dishing three assists and snatching three steals.

Zoe Zutes turned in a solid effort, scoring 11 points on 50% shooting from three (3-6). She also added five rebounds and four blocked shots.

Zairea Hannah provided a balanced outing, scoring 13 points with five assists and eight rebounds.
