Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport volleyball team swept SUNY Poly at home on Saturday, 3-0, in conference play. Now 4-0 at home, Brockport improves to 13-6 overall and 6-1 in the Empire 8.
The Golden Eagles took a 1-0 lead after winning the first set, 25-17, and that's the closest it would get for the visiting Wildcats. Brockport went on to win the second set, 25-12, and then the third, 25-11, to complete the 3-0 sweep.
It was another strong outing for
Alenna Williamson, leading the attack with 17 kills while hitting .484. Williamson also had four block assists in the match.
Kaylee Dickerson-Holly set a new career-high with 11 kills on the day on an incredibly healthy .667 hitting.
Kaitlyn Jewett served the hitters up all match, totaling 36 assists as the Green and Gold setter. Brockport also saw offensive contributions on the serve with aces from
Elsie Logan (3),
Lauren Emke (2),
Grace Ippoliti (1),
Kaitlyn Jewett (1), and
Gianna Felipe (1).
Defensively it was
Grace Ippoliti that led Brockport with 11 digs on the day, a new career-high for the freshman.
Elsie Logan had double digit digs as well with 10.
Lauren Emke had one solo block and four assisted denials at the net.
Alyssa Bruno also had a solo block on the way to three total for the match.
The Golden Eagles are set to host Alfred University for their next outing. The match is scheduled for a 6pm start at The Vlog on Friday, October 25
th.
