Box Score Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport volleyball team lost to Alfred University at home on Friday night, 3-2. Suffering their first home loss of the season, the Golden Eagles are now 13-7 overall and 6-2 in the Empire 8.
The first set was all Brockport, as the squad won the set 25-15 to go up 1-0 early in the match. The visiting Saxons were able to respond however by winning the second and third sets 25-23 and 25-15.
Trailing 2-1, the Green and Gold recovered in the fourth. Brockport won the set 25-18 to push the match to a fifth set. Going back and forth in the final set, it was Alfred that held on to win, 15-12, for the 3-2 match victory.
Alenna Williamson and
Anna Cascapera led the team offensively with 16 and 13 kills respectively.
Kaylee Dickerson-Holly contributed eight kills in the match.
Kaitlyn Jewett had 30 assists, setting her teammates up all night.
Lauryn Forand had 11 assists during her rotation in as the setter.
Elsie Logan put up a season-high 32 digs from the libero spot.
Alenna Williamson had 12 digs and
Gianna Felipe had 11 on the night.
Lauren Emke totaled six blocks to lead the team, including two solo denials at the net.
Alenna Williamson had three total, while
Maddy Howell and
Kaylee Dickerson-Holly each had two blocks.
On the serve, the Golden Eagles saw aces from

Gianna Felipe (1).
The Golden Eagles are on the road Saturday for a chance to bounce back against Houghton. This E8 match is set for a 2pm start.
