Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team is officially off to the best start in program history after its 10th straight shutuout of the 2024 season. The Golden Eagles picked up the win on the road, 4-0, against the SUNY Poly Wildcats.

Now at 9-0-1 overall and 5-0 in the Empire 8, Brockport is undefeated through 10 games for the first time ever. To make it even more impressive, the Golden Eagles have still not allowed a single game yet this year.

The Golden Eagles dominated the match overall with 26 total shots, with 15 on goal in comparison to the Wildcats with one total. Brockport was also awarded with 10 corner kicks to contribute to the strong win.

Early on in the first period at only 8:59, McKenna Slate shot a rocket to the back of the net to open the scoring for the Green and Gold. Megan Gerber also scored an unassisted goal in the first period at 36:45 which brought the score up to 2-0 going into halftime.

Coming back after the break, Amelia Breton wasted no time just one minute into the second period with yet another unassisted score. Breton's goal brought the score up 3-0 early in the second half. With only 10 minutes left in the game, Katie Hotaling brought in one last unassisted and well-earned goal for the team. Hotaling's finish put the game away, giving Brockport the 4-0 win to make history.
