Brockport, NY- The Brockport women's tennis will head to Geneseo on Friday, October 11
th at 4 p.m. before returning home to take on Utica on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles picked up a hard-fought 5-4 win at Houghton on Friday, October 4
th. Brockport improved to 2-6 overall and 2-4 in E8 play following the win.
Sophie Langdon and
Olivia Chiu picked up the Golden Eagles' lone win in doubles play, winning in convincing fashion (8-2).
Brockport was strong in singles play, picking up wins in 4 of 6 matches, beginning with
Olivia Raschiatore, who was victorious in 1
st singles (6-1, 6-0).
Cara Vasile did much of the same in 2
nd singles, winning in 3 sets in a competitive match (5-7, 6-3, 6-3).
Grace Trebilcock earned herself a win in 5
th singles, pulling out a two-set victory (6-2, 7-5).
Erin McMichael came through in 6
th singles, picking up the win in a comfortable two sets (6-3, 6-1).
Hot Streak: Across her last 3 matches,
Grace Trebilcock has found a groove in singles play for the Green and Gold. The senior from Rocky Point, NY has won her last 3 singles matches, picking up wins against Nazareth, Alfred, and Houghton.
Scouting Geneseo: The Knights sit at 5-1 overall, with a 4-1 record in Empire 8 matches. Geneseo is in the midst of a 5-match-winning streak, most recently downing Alfred 9-0 on the road last Saturday.
Scouting Utica: The Pioneers are still in search of their first win, sitting at 0-10 with a 0-7 mark in Empire 8 matches. Utica's last outing resulted in a 9-0 defeat at Russell Sage on Wednesday, October 9th.
