Women's Soccer Advances to E8 Semifinals, Will Host No. 4 Nazareth

Brockport, NY – The top-seeded Brockport women's soccer team shutout the Elmira Soaring Eagles, 1-0, at home in the Empire 8 Quarterfinals. The Golden Eagles set a new program record with their 14th shutout of the season, as they advance to the E8 Semifinals.

It was a quiet first half and the score remained at 0-0 going into the halftime break. In the first half, Brockport outshot Elmira, 16-0, and had five corner kick opportunities compared to zero for the Soaring Eagles.

Coming back from the halftime break, it wasn't until 70:28 when Jaylah Cossin shot a rocket to the back of the net for her 11th goal in the 2024 season. Cossin helped create the final score of 1-0 for the Golden Eagles.

Cossin had a team-high total of eight shots while Sierra Edwards also added in seven shots in the game. Kellie Gentile, Amelia Breton, Lyndsey Miller, Caitlin Nelson, Katie Hotaling, and Megan Gerber all contributed to Brockport's shot total of 29 (8 SOG).

Madeline McCrosson was in between the pipes for the Green and Gold and had one save on the day, recording a clean sheet in 90 minutes of work.

Up Next – The Golden Eagles will continue on in the Empire 8 Tournament and are set to host the No. 4 Nazareth Golden Flyers on Wednesday, November 6th.
