Brockport, NY - The Brockport men's lacrosse team will host Clarkson University for the Home Opener on Wednesday, February 28
th at 4 p.m.
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles were defeated in their season opener against St. John Fisher, 21-9, on Saturday, February 17
th.
Marc Zappula had a strong effort with 4 assists against the Cardinals.
Freshman
Logan Postel scored his first goal as Golden Eagle in the contest.
Garrett Smith,
Andrew DiPalma, and
Mike O'Brien added a goal each for Brockport.
Jack Acker had 14 saves between the pipes for the Green and Gold.
Debut to Remember: In his first outing as a Golden Eagle,
Nick Askin impressed from the get-go. Askin led the way with a 4-goal outing against the Cardinals, scooping up 2 ground balls as well.
No Place Like Home: The Golden Eagles have performed well historically in home-opener action. The Golden Eagles have won 4 straight home openers, with 5 victories in their last 6 home openers dating back to 2018.
Scouting Clarkson: Clarkson will enter tomorrow's matchup 0-1 on the year, falling to Muhlenberg College 8-7 last Saturday. Clarkson is coming off a strong 11-5 (3-4) 2023 campaign, defeating the Golden Eagles in last year's season opener 16-7. Brockport will enter Wednesday's matchup looking for their first win over Clarkson since 2016.
