Brockport, NY - The Brockport women's basketball team rode a balanced offensive performance to upset Cortland at home, 84-80, on Friday, February 9
th. The Golden Eagles moved to 12-11 overall and 8-8 in SUNYAC play following the win.

The Golden Eagles dominated the first half, shooting an excellent 56% from the field and an even more effective 66% from 3-point range in the opening half (6-9 3PT). Â The Green and Gold would take a 13-point lead into the break.

Brockport would finish with six players scoring seven or more points, with
Mandy Brink (7 points) and
Kelsey Morgans (8 points) shooting a perfect combined 5-for-5 from the floor.

The third quarter proved to be a stalemate, with both teams scoring 20 points and Brockport holding a 13-point lead entering the final frame.

Cortland would threaten in the final frame, cutting the lead to six thanks to a strong effort from Logan Streety. Streety finished with 21 points and eight rebounds to lead the Red Dragons in scoring.

Stephanie Jean-Baptiste came up big in crunch time, drilling a three late in the fourth to put Brockport up nine with three minutes remaining, effectively ending the comeback bid for Cortland. SJB would lead all scorers with 24 points, and lead the game in rebounds with 12 in a double-double effort.

Zoe Zutes was electric from beyond the arc, shooting 4-for-6 from downtown for 17 points and chipping in five rebounds.

Anna Lee rounded out the double-digit scorers for Brockport, dropping 14 points in a solid effort.

The Golden Eagles would finish the contest by shooting an effective 55% from beyond the arc (11-20 3PT), compared to just 30% shooting for Cortland (11-36 3PT). The Brockport victory ended a 7-game head-to-head skid against Cortland.
