Women's Lacrosse to Host #19 Ithaca College on Saturday

Brockport, NY - The Brockport women's lacrosse team will play host to #19 Ithaca College on Saturday, March 2nd at 2 p.m. 
 
Home Opener Recap: The Golden Eagles earned a big, 12-11, overtime win over Rochester on Sunday, February 25th. Brockport moved to 1-0 to start the season following the home opener win. 
 
Cassidy Burnash would be the first of three Golden Eagles to record a hat trick and would finish with three goals and three assists for six points on the day.
 
In her first game as a Golden Eagle, Tristan Davis had herself a day with a hat trick effort. 

Alayna Foos thrived throughout, racking up five points on the day including the game-winning goal in overtime in another hat trick performance for the Green and Gold. 

Hailey Lewkovich notched her first goal as a member of the Green and Gold, adding an assist for two points on the day. 

Arianna Reed had a strong debut between the pipes, saving 15 Rochester shots and earning the win. 
 
Two-Way Threat: As a two-sport athlete for the Golden Eagles (Field Hockey/Lacrosse), Paige Thowe showed her two-way ability against Rochester. Leading Brockport with three caused turnovers, Thowe added two points against the Yellowjackets (1G, 1A) as an important two-way midfielder for Brockport. 
 
Impact Freshman: Against Rochester, the freshman trio of Tristan Davis, Arianna Reed, and Hailey Lewkovich played crucial roles in the Brockport victory. Hailey Lewkovich scooped up three ground balls along with registering two points (1G, 1A). Tristan Davis scoring a hat trick with eight shots on goal.
 
Award Winner: In her first outing as a Golden Eagle, goalie Arianna Reed was named SUNYAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week. Reed was exceptional in her debut, saving 15 shots with two clutch stops in the final minutes of regulation, including one save with just 13 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime. 
 
Scouting Ithaca: The Bombers are coming off a 12-8, 2023 campaign and currently sit at 1-0 this season. They defeated #20 University of Scranton, 13-9. Ithaca is currently ranked #19 in the latest USA Women's Lacrosse Top 20. The Golden Eagles will enter Saturday looking for its first win over Ithaca since the 2010 season.
 
Up Next: Brockport will face off with RIT on the road on Wednesday, March 6th at 4 p.m.
