Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's lacrosse team is on the road Saturday, March 16
th for a matchup with McDaniel College at 11am.
 
Last Time Out: The Green and Gold pulled out a nice win at home earlier this week against St. Lawrence University, 12-10. Trailing by one heading into the fourth quarter, Brockport surged ahead late with five goals in the final period. 
Tristan Davis (5), 
Cassidy Burnash (3), 
Julia Quinlan (3), and 
Alayna Foos (3) all totaled at least three points in the victory. Brockport improved to 2-3 overall on the season following the win.
 
Triple Threat: So far this season the Brockport offense has run through a trio of scoring threats, led by fifth year player 
Cassidy Burnash. Burnash has totaled 28 points on 15 goals and 13 assists, leading the team in all three categories. 
Alayna Foos has 17 points, posting 14 goals and three assists. Freshman 
Tristan Davis now has 14 goals and two assists for 16 total points, after a five-point outing last game (4G, 1A).
 
Hustle Plays: Through the first five games, 
Paige Thowe leads the team with nine ground balls to go with 14 draw controls and six caused turnovers. 
Tristan Davis has come up with a team-best 22 draw controls to give Brockport possession. 
Alayna Foos has also been effective with her effort defensively, as the team leader in caused turnovers with eight.
 
In Net: Freshman goalie 
Arianna Reed has been the lone Golden Eagle to play in net so far this season. She has started all five games on the way to a 2-3 record between the pipes. Reed has faced 152 shots and come up with 52 saves early on in her collegiate career.
 
Scouting McDaniel: Heading into the weekend battle with Brockport, McDaniel is 4-2 overall after winning its last two games. The Green Terror picked up wins over Albright, 17-7, and Bridgewater (VA), 14-7. #16 Emma Miller is the top scoring threat for McDaniel, already with 26 goals through the first six games of the season. Saturday's game will be the first ever matchup between the two programs at McDaniel and Brockport.
 
Looking Ahead: Following the trip to Maryland this weekend, the Golden Eagles will start preparations for the beginning of SUNYAC play next week. They will be on the road Saturday, March 23
rd for an 11am conference clash with Plattsburgh.
