Pittsburgh, PA- The Brockport men's lacrosse team fell on the road against Chatham University, 18-13, on Tuesday, March 19th. The Golden Eagles moved to 1-5 on the year following the loss.
The first quarter proved to be a tight affair, with Jackson Worden scoring back-to-back goals to move Brockport ahead 2-1.
From the 7:34 mark in the first quarter until the halftime break, Chatham would take control, scoring eight of the games next 9 goals to hold a 9-3 lead going into halftime.
The Golden Eagles would rally back in the third, outscoring Chatham 6-3 in the quarter to enter the fourth down 12-9.
The Cougars would regain control in the fourth quarter, scoring 5 of the next 7 goals to retake a commanding 7 goal advantage.
Brockport goals from Nick Askin and Logan Postel would cut the lead to 5, but the rally would come too late, resulting in a 18-13 Chatham win.
Brady Rigdon and Ethan Rinker of Chatham led all scorers with 5 goals each.
Jackson Worden turned in a strong performance, scoring 4 goals in a 5 point effort.
Daniel Wright (1G, 2A), Nick Askin (2G, 1A), and Marc Zappula (1G, 2A) totaled 3 points each.
Andrew DiPalma scooped up a game-high 10 ground balls and added a goal.
