Plattsburgh, NY – The Golden Eagle women's lacrosse team won its third consecutive game on Wednesday to improve to 7-4 overall and 4-1 in the SUNYAC. They defeated Plattsburgh, 17-3, on the road for another conference victory.
Brockport got right to work, dominating the first half of play to go up big on the road. The team scored 10 unanswered goals in the opening half to hold a 10-0 lead at halftime.
Tristan Davis and
Alayna Foos both posted hat tricks in the first half to lead the offensive surge.
Foos finished with a game-high of six points on four goals and two assists. She also chipped in with a game-high four caused turnovers. Davis had three goals on the day and two draw controls.
Plattsburgh put an end to the shutout in the third quarter, scoring less than three minutes into the period for the first Cardinal goal of the day. Four more scores from the Green and Gold in the quarter created a 14-1 advantage going into the fourth.
Sarah Kilburn completed her hat trick in the second half, totaling a game-high five goals in the contest.
Hailey Lewkovich had four points on two goals and two assists. Brockport also saw points from
Julia Quinlan (1G, 1A),
Journey Naab (1G), and
Jazmin Medina (1G).
The Cardinals did score twice in the fourth to give them three goals for the game, but they had no chance to mount a comeback. Brockport scored three more in the final period to put the cherry on top of a dominant showing. The squad took the win, 17-3, for back-to-back blowout wins against SUNYAC opponents (18-3 win over Potsdam on Saturday).
The Golden Eagles are on the road again this weekend for a conference clash with the Cortland Red Dragons. Saturday's game is scheduled for a 1pm start down in Cortland, NY.
