Brockport, NY – On Wednesday, April 10
th the SUNY Brockport women's lacrosse team will be on the road to take on the Plattsburgh State Cardinals. The game is scheduled to begin at 3pm.
Last Time Out: At home this past weekend, the Golden Eagles dominated the Potsdam Bears from start to finish. They received a 9-point outing from
Cassidy Burnash on the way to an 18-3 win. Improving to 5-2 on the home turf, Brockport is now 6-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
Scoring Leaders: Cassidy Burnash is leading the offensive charge with 56 total points, balanced out with 28 goals and 28 assists.
Alayna Foos and
Tristan Davis are the two top goal scorers, each with 30 scores this season.
Sarah Kilburn and
Julia Quinlan both have contributed 14 goals offensively.
Tracking the Ball: Tristan Davis (33) and
Sarah Kilburn (31) are leading the squad in draw controls.
Paige Thowe (18) and
Alayna Foos (14) have also demonstrated their hustle by snagging ground balls. Foos (14) and
Julia Quinlan (10) have made plays on the ball defensively, combining for 24 caused turnovers.
Reed's Debut Season: Arianna Reed has played every second of every games so far this season as the starting goalie for the Green and Gold. Starting all 10 games, she owns a record of 6-4 in her debut season at the collegiate level. Reed has come up with 89 saves so far in 2024.
The Cardinals: The Plattsburgh State Cardinals are looking to right the ship this week after a pair of back-to-back losses last week. They are 2-8 overall and 1-3 in the conference following losses to New Paltz (18-1) and Geneseo (22-0). In the last three games against the Cardinals, Brockport has earned wins of 15-5, 17-3, and 23-1.
Trip to Cortland: Saturday will mark the team's trip to Cortland for a big conference clash. The Red Dragons are heading into the week with a 7-4 mark, which includes an undefeated 4-0 record in the SUNYAC. They have won five games in a row and will take on Oneonta on Wednesday ahead of the weekend game with Brockport.
Looking Ahead: Following this week's pair of games the Golden Eagles will hit the road once more to face Geneseo on Wednesday, April 17
th at 4pm. On April 20
th Brockport will host Oneonta for a 1pm start on Senior Day.
