Men's Lacrosse to Close Out Regular Season Play at Home

Brockport, NY- The Brockport men's lacrosse team will host Geneseo for the Face Off Against Cancer Game on Wednesday, April 24th at 4 p.m., before taking on Potsdam for Senior Day on Saturday, April 27th at 1 p.m.  
 
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles dominated from start to finish to roll past Plattsburgh, 19-7, on Saturday, April 20th. Brockport improved to 4-9 on the year with a 2-3 mark in SUNYAC play.
 
Jackson Worden (6 points) and Nick Askin (7 points) led all goal scorers with 5 goals each, with Ben Hay (4 points) adding a hat trick to power the Brockport offense.
 
 Jack Acker was strong in the win, allowing just 6 goals with 12 saves and 2 ground balls.
 
Marc Zappula proved to be a key distributor, leading all players with 4 assists.
 
Tim Hubbard provided a dynamic effort, dishing out 2 assists with a game-high 8 ground balls.
 
Michael Marincic caused a game-high 4 turnovers for the Green and Gold.
 
Dillon McCann notched his first career goal in a two-goal effort.
 
Senior Day: Before the start of Saturday's game, a brief ceremony will take place honoring the 2024 Golden Eagle seniors and their contributions to the Brockport men's lacrosse program.
 
Best in Class: With 2 games remaining in the regular season, Nick Askin has maintained his record-breaking scoring place. Averaging 4.15 goals per game, Askin's mark ranks as the 5th best nationally, also leading the SUNYAC in points per game (4.62).
 
Scouting Geneseo: The Knights sit at 9-6 overall and 4-1 in SUNYAC play, currently sitting in the #2 spot in the SUNYAC standings. Geneseo utilizes a balanced scoring attack, with 6 players scoring 15 or more goals on the season. Brockport will enter Wednesday looking for their first win over Geneseo since 2017.
 
Scouting Potsdam: The Bears hold a 7-5 record with a 2-3 mark in SUNYAC play, most recently defeating New Paltz 16-6. The brother duo of Peyton (37g) and Owen Walsh (29g) lead the scoring for Potsdam with 66 combined goals on the season. The Golden Eagles have won 4 of the last 5 matchups with Potsdam in the season series.
 
Up Next: If qualified, the Golden Eagles will play the opening round of the SUNYAC tournament on Wednesday, May 1st.
