Brockport, NY- The Brockport men's lacrosse team dropped Saturday's home SUNYAC clash with Cortland, 11-10. The Golden Eagles fell to 2-8 overall and 1-2 in conference play following the loss.

The Red Dragons would start hot, with two Stefan Swedlund goals putting Cortland ahead 2-0 early in the first.

With his first of three goals at the 8:04 mark in the first,
Nick Askin would break the program record for single-season goals. Askin would finish with a team-high 3 goals, with his second coming from an assist from
Tim Hubbard to tie the game at 2-2.

Garrett Smith would give Brockport a 3-2 lead entering the 2
nd quarter, burying an unassisted goal with 46 seconds left in the first.

Both teams would trade 3 goal runs, with Brockport goals coming from
Nate Askin (2) and
Logan Postel.

The Red Dragons would tie the contest at 6 with Klay Stuver's goal with just 3 seconds remaining in the half.

Both teams would once again exchange scoring runs, with Cortland taking a 9-6 lead in the third before 4 straight Brockport goals would put the Golden Eagles ahead 10-9 with 5:21 left in the 4
th.

Cortland would get the last laugh, with Klay Stuver and Caden Yancey burying clutch goals in the final 4 minutes to give Cortland the 11-10 win.

Nate Askin led the Golden Eagles with 4 points, burying two goals with two assists.

Daniel Wright posted a multi-point outing, adding a goal and an assist for the Green and Gold.

Andrew DiPalma would go 14-24 in the faceoff circle, adding 5 ground balls and a goal in a well-rounded effort.

Tim Hubbard was excellent on defense, forcing 3 turnovers and scooping up a team-high 6 ground balls.

Gavin Miller was strong in defeat, saving 18 shots and allowing just 11 goals.
