Another Shutout for the Golden Eagles

Brockport, NY - The Brockport women's soccer team shutout the Buffalo State Bengals, 2-0, in non-conference play for the fourth consecutive clean sheet. This brings the Golden Eagles up to 3-0-1 overall on the season, as they have still yet to give up a goal.

Early on in the game at 16:27, junior Megan Gerber opened up the scoring with an unassisted score and her first for the 2024 season. After a teammates shot on net was saved, Gerber was there for the rebound to put Brockport up 1-0.

At the end of half the Golden Eagles were up 1-0 and they didn't stop there. Sophomore McKenna Slate  found the back of the net for her first of the season late into the second period at 80:44. Slate's goal was assisted by Jaylah Cossin

On the home turf, Brockport controlled the pace by cranking out 18 total shots with 12 placed on goal compared to Buffalo States five shots on net.

Goalkeeper Madeline McCrosson stayed in the net for the Green and Gold for a total of 90:00 minutes, collecting the shutout win and making five saves.

Up Next -  The squad is on the road for its first Empire 8 conference game on Saturday, September 14th in Albany against the Sage Gators at 1pm.
