Brockport, NY – The Golden Eagles shutout the Sage Gators, 1-0, for their first Empire 8 Conference game since becoming a full member of the conference. Brockport secures its fifth straight shutout of the 2024 season and brings them to 4-0-1 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play.
The women's soccer team had a total of 18 shots with three on goal compared to the Gators eight total shots with four on goal for the match. Brockport is now holding a 14-0 advantage in the scoring column over its opponents so far this season.
The first half was a scoreless affair, as the teams remained tied at 0-0 going into the break. Early on in the second half at 52:05,
Sierra Edwards opened up the scoring with an unassisted goal for Brockport. It was Edwards' fourth goal of the season (team-high), which gives her a team-best nine points on the year.
Between the pipes for all 90:00 minutes was
Madeline McCrosson, saving four shots on goal which brings in her second win for the season and second solo shutout.
