Brockport, NY- The Brockport field hockey team fell in home opener action against the University of Rochester, 3-0, on Friday, September 5
th. The Golden Eagles moved to 2-1 on the season following the loss.

The Golden Eagles found scoring chances early, registering 4 shots on goal in the opening frame, all of which were denied by Rochester goalie Kara Houston.

The Rochester defense was up to the task, holding the Golden Eagles without a shot on goal for the remainder of the contest.

Following a scoreless first period, the Yellowjackets would break through, thanks to 2
nd-period goals from Grayson Honig and Mara Heppard. Â

Entering the 3
rd period with a 2-0 advantage, Rochester would net the game's 3
rd and final goal, thanks to Hannah Mehta (1G, 1A).

Ella Buchanan (2-1) was strong in defeat, making 8 saves on the day.
