Albany, NY- The Brockport women's tennis team fell in their Empire 8 opener at Russell Sage, 8-1, on Saturday, September 7^th. The Golden Eagles begin the season 0-2 following the loss and are 0-2 in conference play.
 
Cara Vasile and Lena Paolicelli made their debut in 1^st doubles, falling to Tirzah Spivey and Emma Nuzzi of Russell Sage, 8-4.
 
Olivia Chiu and Sophie Langdon dropped their 2^nd doubles matchup against Manan Aguirre and Olivia Monaro, 8-4.
 
Cara Vasile made her first appearance in 1^st singles, coming up short in two sets against Manan Aguirre (6-1, 6-0).
 
Sophie Langdon was defeated in 3^rd singles in back-to-back sets (6-1, 6-2).
 
Grace Trebilcock lost a competitive match in 5^th singles against Noella Morris.
 
Securing the Golden Eagles' lone point on the day, Erin McMichael earned a win in 6^th singles in two sets (6-3, 7-5).
