Brockport, NY—The Brockport women's basketball team rolled to a 79-47 win at Hartwick on Friday, January 10
th. The Golden Eagles moved to 9-2 overall with a 2-0 mark in Empire 8 play.
The first quarter would prove to be a back-and-forth affair, with
Jackie Kozakiewicz connecting from deep to give Brockport a four-point lead. Hartwick would finish the quarter strong, with both teams tied at 13-13.
Brockport's defense would set the tone in the second quarter, allowing just three made field goals and seven points. The Golden Eagles would enter halftime up 26-20, despite shooting just 1-12 from downtown.
The Golden Eagle offense would find a rhythm in the third, shooting 52% from the field (11-21) with 10 made free throws.
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste would lead the scoring charge, dropping eight points in the quarter.
Up 20 points entering the fourth, the Brockport defense would effectively decide the contest, allowing just 8 points in the final frame. 53 second-half points would lead Brockport to the 32-point win.
Stephanie Jean-Baptiste would lead all scorers with 21 points, adding eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals in a strong outing.
Cam Tooley snatched a game-high 11 rebounds, adding seven points on the game.
Kaileigh Hunt would flirt with a double-double, scoring 12 points with nine rebounds.
Mandy Brink rounded out the double-digit scorers with 12 points, three steals, and three assists.

Claire Turner would all finish with three steals.
Rebounding and defense sealed the contest for Brockport, winning the rebounding battle 49-37, and forcing 32 Hartwick turnovers.
14 Golden Eagles recorded a rebound or better, with 12 different players scoring in the contest.
