Brockport, NY – The Men's and Women's indoor track and field teams traveled to Staten Island for the St. Thomas Aquinas Invite at Ocean Breeze and showed out for the first meet of 2025.
Men's Team Recap:
In the 60m dash, Gabe Biannini made a mark of 7.19 seconds making 30
th place out of 122 runners. Derek Grimshaw crossed the finish line just .6 seconds later at 7.25 making 42
nd place.
Jonathan Zavala clinched 3
rd place out of 54 runners at a mark of 8:25.12 in the 3000m race, setting a new school record for the men's program. Charlie Alekson finished just one place later at 8:28.03 while Patrick Klinger made 12
th place at 8:43.05.
Sean Killip took 10
th place in the mile at a time of 4:23.90 and Connor Kerr made 15
th at 4:26.06. Jared Smith crossed the line just two places later at 17
th with a time of 4:27.68.
In the 400m race, Micharl Durski took a high 6
th place out of 88 at 49.70 seconds while Ayden Grinion finished just two places later at 49.77 seconds.
Owen Arbocus had a day in the men's 800m taking 5
th place out of 49 runners at a mark of 1:57.21. Brian Cappellini took 7
th place at 1:59.00 and Thomas Kressly made an 11
th place finish with a time of 2:00.62.
In the Men's 4000 Distance Medley Relay, Jared Smith, Brian Cappellini, Connor Kerr, and Sean Killip had a strong 1
st place finish out of 16 teams with a time of 10:19.90. Also finishing in the top 3 clinching 3
rd was Jonathan Zavala, Owen Arbocus, Thomas Kressly, and Charlie Alekson crossing the line at 10:27.70.
Nick Wright had a 7
th place finish in the shot put with a 13.52m throw. Mitchell Ellsworth then took 15
th place with a 12.54m throw.
In the men's weight throw, Jacob DeWilde took 13
th with a 13.66m throw and just two places later was Nick Wright with a 13.34m throw.
Dennis Bobbitt brought in an 18
th place finish in the men's long jump with a 6.35m jump while Adam Curtis took 20
th with a 6.30m jump.
Dennis Bobbitt made another mark in the triple jump taking 7
th place at 13.48 meters.
In the men's pole vault, Gabe Giannini clinched 3
rd place out of 14 athletes with a jump of 4.47m.
Gabe Giannini also placed 11
th out of 21 in the high jump with a 1.88m jump.
Women's Team Recap:
In the women's mile, freshman Ethne Degan took 5
th place out of 44 runners with a time of 5:14.20.
Julianne Wilson also made 16
th making a mark of 5:28.27.
Vanessa Ramos had a strong run in the 800m race hitting 12
th place at a time of 2:27.57. Salvatrice also made her mark of 2:31.32 good for 18
th place.
In the 200m sprint,
Marissa Wise took 15
th place out of 86 runners with a time of 26:23 seconds while Lexi Rodriguez took 22
nd at 26.93 seconds.

Julianne Wilson had a day in the 4000m distance medley relay making a high 2
nd place with a mark of 12:44.30. Just two places later, coming in 4
th was
Salvatrice Piccolo,
Vanessa Ramos,
Emily Leo and Sierra Basco with a time of 13.29.14.
In the women's 4x400 meter relay, Lexi Rodriguez,
Monica Cammarota,
Elaina Neubert, and
Lily Rexford took 7
th place at 4:13.03.
Trinity Dees had a strong day making 5
th place in the shot put out of 55 athletes with an 11.53m throw.
Katrina Chandler took 18
th with a 10,12m throw.
Isabel Swyers had a 4
th place finish with a 3.20m jump in the pole vault.
In the women's weight throw,
Katrina Chandler had a well-deserved 4
th place finished out of 54 throwers with a 14.37m throw.
Trinity Dees finished in 14
th place (12.48m) and
Rebecca Heuler took 17
th (12.25m).
Sasha Schramm had a day in the women's long jump and high jump finishing in 3
rd place (5.27m long jump) and 15
th place (10.33m triple jump).
In the high jump,
Michaela Levesque took 9
th place with a 1.55m jump and
Sasha Schramm also placed in 11
th with a 1.50m jump.
