Keuka Park, NY – The Brockport men's basketball team picked up a win on the road Saturday against Keuka, 77-63. Brockport evens up its record at 7-7 overall and improves to 5-1 in the Empire 8.
Zachary Rice had a big night for the Golden Eagles with a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. He led the team in both categories, while shooting 6-for-10 from the field.
The first half saw Brockport clamp down defensively, holding the Wolves to just 16 points through the first 20 minutes. Keuka was held to just 20.7% shooting in the opening frame (6-for-29 FG).
Offensively the Green and Gold converted on 43.8% of shots in the first half, scoring 32 points to take a lead into halftime. Brockport led 32-16 going into the break.
Both teams picked up the scoring pace in the second half, combining for 92 points compared to just 48 combined points in the first.
Although Keuka outscored Brockport in the second half, 47-45, the Wolves were unable to make up ground after the first half. The Golden Eagles led by as many as 29 points, marching to a 14-point victory on the road.
Brockport has now won three in a row and is set for one last road game before getting back to the home court. The squad will travel to play La Roche University for a 6pm start on Tuesday, January 21
st.
