BROCKPORT, N.Y- The Brockport Field Hockey team rolled to a 7-0 victory over Alfred University on Wednesday, October 1st. The Golden Eagles improved to 5-4 overall and 2-0 in Empire 8 competition.
Brockport dominated the entirety of the contest, holding Alfred without a shot and recording 24 shots on goal.
Cassidy Pado wasted no time getting Brockport on the scoreboard, burying an
Allison Greene feed off a penalty corner to jump ahead 1-0.
The Golden Eagles would strike for three goals in the first period, with
Emily Nestor and
Terralyn McLaughlin scoring for the Green and Gold.
Elise Brady and Nestor would add assists on the first-period goals.
Multiple Golden Eagles would record their first goals of the season in the contest.
Sydney Marceau would connect for her first goal of the season, thanks in part to
Terralyn McLaughlin's excellent feed.
Marceau's goal would round out the first-half scoring for Brockport, taking a 4-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half,
Elise Brady would score her team-leading 4th and 5th goals, seeing
Kaitlyn Malinowski record her first assist of the season.
With less than four minutes left in the contest,
Kaitlyn Malinowski would score her first goal of the season, giving Brockport the 7-0 win.
Elise Brady led all players with five points (2G, 1A), leading Brockport with five goals and 11 points on the year.
Clare Devine,
Emily Nestor, and
Kaitlyn Malinowski all led Brockport with four shots on goal each.
Seven different Golden Eagles would record a point or better in the contest.
