Tennis Ready to Close Regular Season on the Road Against Utica

Brockport, NY – The Brockport Women's Tennis team look to close out the regular season with a win in its final regular season contest of the fall on the road against Utica on Saturday, October 11th, at 1 p.m.

Last Week's Recap: The Golden Eagles faced a challenging Geneseo squad last week, suffering a 0-7 shutout. Despite the overall result, Brockport displayed resilience, particularly in doubles action. The toughest match of the day came in third doubles, where the duo of Kathleen Rodgers and Gianna Masker battled hard before ultimately falling 6-3.

History Against the Pioneers: Brockport currently holds a 1-0 all-time record against the Pioneers. The Golden Eagles played their first-ever tennis match against Utica on October 12, 2024, and secured a dominating 9-0 victory. Brockport will look to maintain their perfect record against the Pioneers this weekend.

Scouting the Pioneers: The Utica Pioneers enter the contest standing at 1-9 overall, with a 1-6 stamp in conference play. However, they are coming off a strong performance, securing a 7-0 sweep over Russell Sage in their last outing. The Golden Eagles will need to be prepared for a determined Pioneers squad looking to close their season strong.

Up Next: Following the last regular season contest of the fall against Utica, the Golden Eagles will turn their attention to the Empire 8 Championships. The first round is set to begin on Tuesday, October 14th, against an opponent that is yet to be determined.
