Brockport, NY – The men's and women's cross country teams finished up competition at the Houghton Highlander meet today posting strong results. The men's team finished up in seventh place, and the women clinched a dominating third place spot.
Men's Team – Scoring first for the Golden Eagles and 42
nd overall was Thomas Canestrari, crossing the finish line at a time and personal record (PR) of 26:37.8.
Taking second and 55
th overall at a mark of 26:51.6 (PR) was Kyle Deromanis.
Colin Fletcher-Foster finished closely after in 57
th and clinched third for Brockport at a time of 26:53.2.
Owen Arbocus finished up at 26:59.3, good for a PR, fourth for the Green and Gold and 62
nd overall.
Finishing in 73
rd was Hayden Allington at a time of 27:21.9.
Benjamin Betrus and Patrick Allen finished up in 75
th and 76
th, with Betrus at 27:24.5 (PR) and Allen at 27:26.4.
Women's Team –
Ethne Degan showed out in the women's 6k race, finishing in sixth overall at a fast time of 22:12.2 (PR).
Salma Moumen finished shortly after in 19
th, crossing the line at 22:56.3, good for a PR.
Taking third for the Golden Eagles and 23
rd overall was
Sierra Basco at a mark of 23:18.3 (PR).
Maeve Robarge followed shortly behind in 26
th and fourth for the Green and Gold with a time and PR of 23:29.0.
Finishing in 31
st overall and fifth for Brockport was
Esther Nankumba at 23:40.3 (PR).
Vanessa Ramos crossed the finish just eight places later at 39
th from a time of 23:56.8 (PR).
Taking 50
th overall was Madison Kirkpatrick, finishing up at a time and PR of 24:09.5.
Next Weekend – The Green and Gold are set to compete in the Connecticut College Invitational in New London, CT on Saturday, October 18
th for a 10am start. This meet is the last regular season meet before the Empire 8 Championships on November 1
st.
