Brockport, NY – On Monday, the Empire 8 announced Ethne Degan and the E8 Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, for the second time this season, after a stellar performance at the Houghton Highlander Invitational over the weekend. 

Degan earned her first Athlete of the Week honor from a strong third-place finish at the Tom Balon Alumni Classic back in September. 

The Brockport women's cross country team recorded a series of strong results, helping them to a third-place finish at Houghton on Saturday. In the 6k race, Degan had a dominating performance, crossing the finish line with a personal record of 22:12.2, good for a sixth-place overall spot out of 188 runners. 

Up Next – The team looks ahead to this Saturday, October 18^th as they travel to New London, CT for the Connecticut College Invitational starting at 10am. Following this invite, the squad takes a weekend off before the Empire 8 Championships on Saturday, November 1^st.
