Brockport, NY – The women's soccer team took the Senior Day win against Elmira, shutting out the Soaring Eagles 1-0 on home turf. This brings the Golden Eagles to 11-0-3 overall and 9-0 in conference play.
Prior to the matchup, Brockport celebrated six of their seniors and their dedication to the program, including
Lyndsey Miller,
Lucy Crounse,
Megan Gerber,
Diane Lange,
Caitlin Nelson, and
Madeline McCrosson.
Right off the bat, Brockport gained control of the ball with
Amelia Breton and
Jordan Chizuk wasting no time taking shots early on in the matchup to keep the competition tough for the Elmira defense. The Golden Eagles had a few more shot opportunities taken by
Brianna Marino and
McKenna Slate, adding up to six total in the first half over Elmira's two, with the matchup remaining going into the second period.
The Green and Gold came back from the halftime break hot, putting the pressure on the Soaring Eagles, just until
Caitlin Nelson would waste no time burying the ball in the net with the assist from
McKenna Slate to open up the scoring book. Brockport kept the ball in their possession, leading in shots with 12-0 over Elmira. The squad also had a dominating eight corner kick opportunities.
Senior
Madeline McCrosson started the day in between the pipes for the Golden Eagles, and
Emily McCane took second shift in net for the remainder of the game after halftime.
Amelia Breton showed out on the field, leading the team in shots with four and two on goal.
Lyndsey Miller followed closely behind with three shots and one on goal.
Jordan Chizuk added in two shots with two on goal, and
Caitlin Nelson and
Brianna Marino tied with one shot and one on goal.

st, the Green and Gold are set to host Penn State Behrend on 4pm for their last non-conference game of the season. The team will be on the road on Saturday, October 25
th to face Utica University at 1pm.
