BROCKPORT, NY- The Brockport Field Hockey team was defeated in its regular season finale at St. John Fisher, 7-1, on Wednesday, October 29th. The Golden Eagles finished the 2025 regular season with an 8-9 overall record and a 5-5 mark in Empire 8 play, securing the #6 seed in the Empire 8 Tournament.
The Cardinals wasted no time jumping ahead, with Sam Current converting on the penalty stroke just 54 seconds into the first. St. John Fisher would dominate the first half, outshooting Brockport 12-1 and scoring three first-half goals.
Following another Cardinal tally in the third period, freshman
Makenna Hart would bury an unassisted goal to cut the St. John Fisher lead to 4-1.
The Cardinals would end the Brockport comeback bid in the final frame, scoring three goals in the fourth to cruise to a 7-1 victory.
Katelynn Banning picked up the start for the Green and Gold, making nine saves across 60 minutes of action.
Cassidy Pado led the Golden Eagles with two shots, with
Elise Brady and
Makenna Hart (G) adding a shot on net each.
Up Next: The #6-seeded Golden Eagles will hit the road for the Empire 8 Tournament First Round on Saturday, November 1st. They will travel to take on the #3-seeded Nazareth Golden Flyers at 1pm.
