Brockport, NY – The men's and women's cross country teams are in for a big weekend as they travel to Genesee Valley Park at RIT for the NCAA Niagara Region Championships. The men's 8k race is set to start at 10:30am, and the women's 6k race will start at 11:30am.

E8 Championship Recap – On November 1
st, the teams made the trip out to St. John Fisher for the Empire 8 championships. The men's team finished up in fourth with 102 points, and the women's team clinched a strong third-place with 83 points.
In the men's 8k race,
JJ Montemaro had a day coming in first for Brockport and 16
th overall at a time of 27:19.0.
Aidan Mayer finished shortly after in 20
th place and second for the Green and Gold at a mark of 27:34.9.
Taking 26
th overall and clinching third for Brockport was
Caleb Belanger, crossing the line at 27:53.0.
Chris Cammisa finished up just three places later in 29
th at a time of 27:59.5, and Kyle Deromanis took 31
st place finishing at a mark of 28:08.0.
Montemaro, Mayer, and Belanger all finished out the day earning medals.
Finishing first for Brockport and eighth overall in the women's 6k race was Salma Moumen with a quick time of 23:14.2.
Ethne Degan also had a day, taking second for the Green and Gold and 11
th overall with a fast mark of 23:19.7.
Emily Leo finished the day, clinching third for Brockport and 22
nd overall with a time of 24:05.1.
Esther Nankumba and Sierra Basco finished right after each other, with Nankumba taking 26th at 24:24.3 and Basco in 27
th at 24:28.1.
Moumen, Degan, Leo, Nankumba, and Basco each earned hardware following a strong race day.
Who's Running – The Green and Gold's top seven runners from the men's and women's teams earned their spot this season in Regionals.

Running in the women's 6k race for the Golden Eagles are Sierra Basco, Ethne Degan, Natalie Heselton, Emily Leo, Salma Moumen, Esther Nankumba, Salvatrice Piccolo, and Maeve Robarge.
NCAA Championships – The NCAA DIII Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, November 22
nd, in Terre Haute, IN, on the Laverne Gibson Course.
Thirty-two teams will be selected to participate in each championship, where the top team automatically qualifies from each of the 10 regions for a total of 10 teams. Twenty-two additional teams will be selected at large, and seventy individuals, the first seven student athletes from each region who are not a part of a qualifying team, will be selected to participate in the championship.
