Brockport, NY – The top seven runners from the men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Rochester, NY, for the Niagara Region Championships today. The men's team placed eighth in the 8k race with 272 points, and the women also took eighth in the 6k race with 201 points.
Men's Team –
Aidan Mayer finished on top for the Golden Eagles, taking 33
rd overall at a time of 26:09.6.
Taking second for Brockport and 45
th overall was
JJ Montemaro, crossing the line at 26:38.6.
Clinching third for the Green and Gold and 58
th overall was
Howie Vargas at a mark of 26:52.4.
Caleb Belanger finished shortly after in 63
rd with a time of 26:57.5.
Finishing up in 73
rd place with a time of 27:09.9 was
Chris Cammisa
Thomas Canestrari ran for 27:20.7 in the 8k race, good for 78
th place.
Finishing out the day for Brockport was
Kyle DeRomanis, marking a time of 27:52.2.
Women's Team – Salma Moumen had a strong race at Genesee Valley Park, coming in first for Brockport and 27
th overall from a time of 22:49.7.
Ethne Degan crossed the line just one place later in 28
th with a quick time of 22:50.1.
Clinching third for the Golden Eagles and 45
th overall was Esther Nankumba with a mark of 23:29.9.
Emily Leo finished up shortly after in 51
st place with a time of 23:24.8.
Taking 55
th overall was Maeve Robarge, making her mark at 23:47.0.
Sierra Basco finished the day in 60
th, crossing the finish line at a time of 23:56.9.
Finishing out the day for the women's team was Natalie Heselton at a time of 24:53.6.
