Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA All-Academic Team Awards & Trio of Individual Honors

New Orleans, LA – To conclude the month of January, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the 2025 Cross Country Academic Awards. Brockport saw three individuals earn recognition, as well as team honors for both the men and the women.
 
To qualify for this All-Academic distinction, teams must report a cumulative GPA of 3.1 or better. On the individual scale, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better. The individuals must also finish inside the top 25% of their respective regional championship meet.
 
Under the guidance of Head Coach John Davis, the Brockport women's team earned USTFCCCA 2025 Team Academic honors with a 3.46 GPA. On the men's side, the Golden Eagles earned the honor with a GPA of 3.45.
 
Three Golden Eagles earned the title of USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes for the 2025 cross country season. Representing the women's squad this time around is Ethne Degan and Salma Moumen. Aidan Mayer would be the lone Brockport student-athlete on the men's team to earn the honor.
 
To go with their strong work in the classrooms, this trio also faired well at regionals to qualify for this distinction. Salma Moumen had a strong race at Genesee Valley Park, coming in first for Brockport and 27th overall from a time of 22:49.7. Ethne Degan crossed the line just one place later in 28th with a quick time of 22:50.1. In the men's race, Aidan Mayer finished first for the Golden Eagles at 33rd overall at a time of 26:09.6.
