BROCKPORT, NY - The Brockport Women's Basketball team rolled past William Smith, 86-66, on Friday, November 21st, in the 58 Main BBQ & Brew Tip-Off Classic. The Golden Eagles improved to 2-3 on the season following the non-conference win.

Stephanie Jean-Baptiste paced the Brockport offense with a game-high 21 points and 10 rebounds, adding two blocks and two steals. 

Brianna Carey provided an excellent two-way outing, dropping 19 points (8-15) with a game-high seven steals in a dazzling effort. 

The Golden Eagles would dominate the paint and turnover battle throughout, scoring 56 points in the paint and 27 points off turnovers. Despite shooting only 36% in the opening quarter, turnovers and strong play down low would put Brockport up 22-14 entering the second quarter. 

The Brockport offense would stay steady throughout, scoring 20 points or more in each quarter. In the second quarter, the Golden Eagle defense would hold the Herons to just 13 points, taking a commanding 18-point lead into halftime.

The Herons would find life in the third quarter, drilling four three pointers to edge Brockport 21-20 in the frame. Despite cutting the Golden Eagle advantage to six in the third, a 12-3 Brockport run to end the quarter kept the lead at 15 entering the final frame. 

The Brockport offense would save the best for last, scoring a game-high 23 points to close the contest. Excellent Golden Eagle defense would hold William Smith to just 26% shooting (4-15) to seal the 20-point win.

Mandy Brink filled up the box score for Brockport, scoring 13 points with three steals, three rebounds, and two assists. 

Peyton Maneri rounded out the double-digit scorers for Brockport, scoring 10 points with a game-high nine assists, adding three rebounds and two steals.
