Brockport, NY – On Monday, November 24^th, freshman Mason Mangialino earned Empire 8 Wrestler of the Week honor after a show out at the NYS Collegiate Championships over the weekend. 

The Golden Eagles traveled to Syracuse on Saturday for the NYS Collegiate Championships, where Mason Mangialino dominated the competition and finished with a first-place finish with 20.5 points. Brockport clinched a third-place spot with 166.5 points out of 20 schools. 

Mangialino went undefeated in the 149lb division, starting off the day with a win by fall 6:01 into the opening round and a tech 15-0 tech fall win. In the quarterfinals, Mangialino fought for an impressive 22-8 major decision win and moved on to the semifinals where he secured a 4-0 decision. In the 1^st place match, Mangialino brought the heat and finished out the competition with a 6-4 decision win over Derik Soucia of Onondaga Community College.  

The Green and Gold is set to take a couple weeks off and will be back in action on Saturday, December 13^th, and Sunday, December 14^th for the Oswego Tri-Match. Brockport is set to face Lycoming College and Oswego State at 12pm both days.
