Box Score Brockport, NY- The Brockport men's lacrosse team rolled past SUNY Canton in home opener action, 20-6, on Monday, February 24^th. The Golden Eagles start the season 1-0 following the win.
 
Nate Askin led the charge for Brockport, scoring a team-high nine points from seven goals and two assists.
 
Pierson Jacobs showed out in his first outing as a Golden Eagle, netting four goals with an assist for five points on the day.
 
Marc Zappulla posted a game-high three assists, with Rorick Perry (1G, 2A) and Nick Maslin (1G, 2A) adding three points each as well.  
 
The Golden Eagles came out of the gates hot, with a Nate Askin first-period hat-trick and goals from Carson Colucci and Rorick Perry giving Brockport a 5-0 edge entering the second period.
 
Brockport would expand on its lead, netting eight straight goals in the second period. Nate Askin (2), Pierson Jacobs (4), Carson Colucci, and Jack Rice would provide the scoring for Brockport.
 
SUNY Canton's Michael Newcomb would connect for the final goal of the half, with Brockport leading 13-1 at halftime.
 
The Golden Eagles would outscore the Roo's 6-2 in the third quarter, with freshman Peter McGowan netting two goals in the period. Daniel Wright, Askin (2), and Nick Maslin would provide the scoring in the third for Brockport.
 
Up 19-2 going into the final frame, Andrew Heins would provide the final tally of the contest for Brockport, with Rorick Perry providing the assist.
 
Jack Acker would pick up the win in a solid showing, making eight saves with just three goals allowed in 45 minutes of action.
