Men's Lacrosse Loses on the Road at Clarkson

Potsdam, NY – The Golden Eagle men's lacrosse team lost on the road to Clarkson University on Wednesday, 17-6. Brockport is now 1-1 overall on the young season.
 
In the first quarter, Brockport struck first blood to go up 2-0 early. First it was Marc Zappulla finding the back of the net, assisted by Jack Rice. Shortly after, Nick Maslin scored thanks to another assist by Rice.
 
Maslin scored once more, off another Rice assist, in the first quarter. However, Clarkson would hold a 5-3 lead after the opening period.
 
Looking to keep the game close in the second, the Golden Eagles scored three more goals before halftime. Marc Zappulla, Jack Rice, and Nate Askin all scored unassisted goals in the second quarter.
 
Brockport trailed Clarkson, 9-6, going into the halftime break.
 
The second half belonged to the Golden Knights, as they went on to dominate the final 30 minutes of play. They outscored Brockport, 8-0, in the second half on the way to the 17-6 win at home.
 
Jared Kulik was able to make 14 saves in net for Brockport, playing the full 60 minutes at goalie.
 
The Golden Eagles are back in action on Saturday, March 1st for another road game. They will take on Cortland at 1pm.
