Women's Lacrosse Drops Tough Contest Against U of R

Brockport, NY – The women's lacrosse team faced tough competition today against the University of Rochester on the turf and fell 13-10. The Golden Eagles currently sit 0-2 on the 2025 season. 

Alayna Foos led the lady bros, finishing with a team high of five points from four goals and one assist. Freshman Karaline McCarthy made a strong debut following up with three goals and adding on two groundballs. Tristan Davis put up one goal and one assist for two points while Hailey Lewkovich and Sarah Kilburn each made a goal. 

Goalkeeper Arianna Reed had herself a day making a total of 16 saves in the net for the Green and Gold. 

The University of Rochester hopped on the board early with two goals in the first quarter until Brockport halted the 2-0 lead with two more goals within a minute of each other from Foos and McCarthy. The team didn't stop there. Lewkovich shot a rocket to the back of the net to put the score up 3-2 right before the end of the first. 

Within a minute of the second quarter, Karaline helped Brockport to a 2 point lead with an assist from Davis. The Yellowjackets came back strong adding four more goals to end the first half at 6-4. 

In the third quarter, U of R outscored the Golden Eagles 6-2 domianting the field. Kilburn put her first goal in for her first of the season and Foos added on another goal. 

Brockport brought the heat in the fourth outscoring U of R 4-1 but fell just short of the victory. Foos had the first of the quarter while Davis followed suit with a shot past the goalkeeper. McCarthy made her final goal of the day while Foos finished off the scoring for the team with the last of the game. 

Up Next – The team is set to travel to Geneva, NY to face William Smith college next Saturday, March 1ststarting at 1pm.
