Men's Lacrosse Prepares for Pair of Non-Conference Matchups

Brockport, NY- The Brockport men's lacrosse team will host former conference foe Oswego State on Wednesday, March 12th at 4 p.m. The Golden Eagles will then head to Meadville, PA to take on Allegheny on Saturday, March 15th at 1 p.m.
 
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles came from behind to secure a 11-10 overtime win over Potsdam on Friday, March 7th. Brockport improved to 2-2 on the season following the victory.
 
Marc Zappulla (3A), Nate Askin (2G, 1A), and Carson Colucci (2G, 1A) all led the Golden Eagles with three points each.
 
Jack Acker provided a performance to remember, making 20 saves in a winning effort.
 
Tyler Pastore, Alex Card, and Tim Hubbard all led Brockport with two caused turnovers.
 
In need of an overtime hero, Askin found freshman Peter McGowan who rose to the occasion with the game-winning goal in overtime to give Brockport the 11-10 overtime win.
 
Leading the Charge: Leading Brockport with 12 goals and 16 points on the season, Nate Askin has fueled the Brockport offense in his first four outings. Askin serves as the lone Golden Eagle with a goal or better in all four games, posting three points or more in three of four outings.
 
Freshman Duo: Each recording multiple goals in Brockport's win over Potsdam, Pierson Jacobs and Peter McGowan have provided a spark for Brockport in their first career games. Both freshman standouts have posted two multi-goal outings to begin the season, with McGowan scoring the game winning goal against Potsdam. Jacobs ranks second for the Golden Eagles in goals (7) and points (9).
 
Scouting Oswego: The Lakers currently sit at 1-2, picking up their first win last Saturday against Alfred, 7-3. Oswego has won the last two matchups against Brockport, with the Golden Eagles taking eight of the last 11 head-to-head meetings.
 
Scouting Allegheny: The Gators hold a 2-2 record to begin the season, most recently defeating Hiram 15-4. Allegheny is coming off a successful 2024 season, going 10-7 with a 7-1 record in conference play.
 
Up Next: Brockport will head to Ithaca College on Wednesday, March 19th at 7 pm.
