Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Golden Eagles Face Tough Loss on the Road

Brockport, NY – The women's lacrosse team came up just short today of bringing home the win against Union College, who outscored the Golden Eagles 16-10. This brings Brockport to 0-4 overall on the 2025 season.

Union wasted no time in the first quarter with an early goal at just 12:00. They added on two more to put the team up 3-0 until Alayna Foos stopped the bleeding making it 3-1 going into quarter two.

The chargers fought back hard by launching three goals into the net in less than a minute to gain a strong 6-1 lead. It was a back-and-forth battle for the rest of the quarter as Hailey Lewkovich and Karaline McCarthy responded, shortening the lead. Union made another score and less than a minute later Lewkovich came in with her second score of the game. Union made on more before the half and Alayna Foos followed suit with an assisted goal from Karaline McCarthy with just three seconds left in the second.

Coming back from the break, the third quarter was much like the second. The Golden Eagles were down 8-5 until Karaline McCarthy came in with her second of the day, starting to close the gap. Union made two more goals, taking them to 10 until McCarthy added on a third, assisted by Tristian Davis. In between two more goals Union added, McCarthy kept her total going to bring the Green and Gold to 8 going into the fourth.

Union struck again making three back-to-back scores to start the fourth. Angelina Soeffing made her first goal of the day with an assist from McCarthy and Foos added another for Brockport. The Chargers kept the run going with one more goal to end the battle 16-10.

In total, McCarthy led the team in goals (4) and assists (2), bringing her to six points. Alayna Foos' total for the day was three goals. In net for the Golden Eagles was Arianna Reed making two saves and Makenna Cady adding on seven saves.

Coming Up Next – Brockport is set to host Oswego State this coming Saturday, March 15th for a 1pm start on the A. Huntley Parker Jr. Field.
