The Golden Eagles went on to complete the year with an 8-28 overall record and a 2-16 mark in the conference. Improving upon the program's 5-27 mark the year prior, Coach Wheat has plans to keep the Golden Eagles trending upward in 2025 in year two at the helm.

Entering the Empire 8: After spending many years competing as a member of the SUNYAC, the Golden Eagles will take their turn in a new conference starting in 2025. They will officially begin play as part of the Empire 8 Conference this season. Opposing schools in this new conference include: Alfred, Elmira, Geneseo, Hartwick, Houghton, Keuka, Nazareth, SUNY Poly, Sage, St. John Fisher, and Utica. E8 play is slated to begin at home on Saturday, March 29th against Elmira.

E8's Player to Watch: Prior to the start of the season the Empire 8 listed Olivia Simone as SUNY Brockport's "Player to Watch" heading into the new year. During her first year with Brockport in 2024 she registered a .321 batting average in 36 games started with 17 RBIs, 18 runs, and .359 on base percentage. She led the team offensively with 34 hits, 16 doubles, and a .491 slugging.

Key Returners: Out in the circle, Brockport will see both Fiona Gibiser and Hadley Alguire back in action this year. Gibiser was given the ball for seven starts across 22 appearances as a junior in 2024. Pitching 48.1 innings and two complete games, she totaled 22 strikeouts on the season. Alguire made her collegiate debut last year, starting 12 of her 18 games played. Hadley tallied 16 strikeouts across 39.0 innings of work, which included three wins (1 complete game).

The Golden Eagles will be happy to have both Kellie Gentile and Riley Barrett returning the lineup. Gentile led the squad with her .369 batting average, .454 on base percentage, and with 14 stolen bases. She was also a staple in the lineup defensively out in center field. Barrett, the left slap hitter, was second on the team with a .329 batting average in 2024. She was also reliable in the field with a .980 field rate last year at second base.

Back Again: This year's team is composed of a large group of veteran players that have been with the program for a few years now. Brockport will be led by the senior class of Fiona Gibiser, Olivia Simone, Grace Talbut, Jackie DuTot, and Kellie Gentile. The group of juniors is made up of Aubrey Ennis, Caitlyn Dailey, Erin Dougherty, and Riley Barrett. Reagan Myers, Hadley Alguire, Natalie Faas, Ciara Olivo, Paige Wentland, Cece Rappleyea, and Aurora Sabins round out the team as the sophomore returners.
