Brockport, NY – The Golden Eagles are set to host RIT this Wednesday, March 26
th at home starting at 4pm and will be on the road to face Hartwick College for the first Empire 8 contest on Saturday, March 29
th for a 1pm start.
Last Time Out – Last week Wednesday, March 19
th, Brockport battled it out against Hamilton College where they faced a tough 3-14 loss on the road.
Hamilton started strong putting up three goals quick in the first period until
Tristan Davis responded with a goal taking the lead down to just two scores. Before the second quarter, Hamilton put the ball into the net once more taking them to 4-1 at the end of the first.
The second quarter reflected the first with Hamilton adding two more to their score until Davis added another to cut the lead. Hamilton snuck one more at the buzzer, putting them up 7-2 going into halftime.
After the break, the third quarter was quiet as Brockport struggled to find the back of the net. Hamilton outscored them 2-0 to start and end the third quarter.
The fourth quarter was one-sided, with Hamilton coming in hot and scoring four in a row before
Amanda Evans stopped the bleeding with an assist from
Karaline McCarthy. With just a minute left in the game, Hamilton added another onto their score, taking them to 14-3 on the day.
A Look at RIT and Harwick – The RIT Tigers currently sit at 6-2 overall and 2-1 in the 2025 season. It has been a back-and-forth battle between Brockport and RIT as the Tigers took the 15-13 win in 2024 and Brockport put up a 14-13 win in 2023.
The Hartwick Hawks are currently 1-4 overall and 0-1 on the season. They finished up the 2024 season 7-8 overall and 3-3 in the conference. Saturday's matchup between the Golden Eagles and the Hawks will be the first since 2013. This game on the weekend will mark the first Empire 8 contest in program history for Brockport, after previously spending many years as a member of the SUNYAC.
